Every Mercury engine comes with a Mercury Marine Limited Warranty. The length of the warranty, and what is covered by it, varies based on the product purchased. This warranty manual will outline what is covered, and how long your engine is covered, by the limited warranty. It also includes your rights and responsibilities to maintain your warranty coverage.

Mercury Product Protection is a factory-backed extended coverage plan, completely administered and backed by Mercury, that can give you up to eight years of worry-free boating with your Mercury outboard or Mercury MerCruiser sterndrive.
Mercury MerCruiser® sterndrives, inboards, and tow sport inboards have a standard limited, non-declining warranty. The length of this warranty depends on the model but can last up to three years. Certain boat brands, whose manufacturers have met the requirements for the Mercury Installation Quality Certification Program, carry an additional year of warranty on the MerCruiser engine.
If your outboard was not registered by your Mercury dealer or retailer, use this tool to complete the registration process to be eligible for warranty coverage. This applies to Avator outboards and batteries, which must be registered separately.
