Mercury Marine nomme Marty Bass au poste de Head EMEA Operations

Mercury Marine, the global leader in marine propulsion, announced today that Marty Bass has been appointed President - EMEA Mercury Marine with immediate effect.

Formerly Vice President of Mercury's product category management group based at the Mercury headquarters in Fond du Lac, Bass succeeds Mike Shedivy, who led EMEA – Mercury Marine from 2013.   Shedivy will join Life Fitness, another unit of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), as its Vice President - Global Commercial Category Management and Product Development.

"Marty's intimate knowledge of our strategy, product plans and technology make him an ideal choice to continue the strong momentum Mercury has in the EMEA region," said President John Pfeifer.  "He has worked closely with our EMEA team over the years to help design and launch products critical to our strategy in these important markets, and will continue to drive engine, part and accessory growth for our business."

"After collaborating with the EMEA team in my former role, I'm eager to work more closely with them and our dealers and distributors as we continue to extend our leadership in engines and the parts & accessories business in this vital area," said Bass.

Bass, who joined Mercury Marine in 2006, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy Postgraduate School and an MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
